Judith Stam has been painting since 1999. She comes from a hard-working entrepreneurial family. As a child, she was creative, but only later did she decide to turn it into her profession. Judith started out as a hairdresser and ended up running her own business. Thanks to a course in drawing and painting, she discovered where her heart lies. She soon received assignments and that has been the case ever since. In the beginning, she made her own cards, with her husband and children helping out at the kitchen table. She sold her work at art fairs. When interest in her cards turned out to be great, she took them to a publisher.
The cards sold by her publisher soon flew off the shelves. In addition to the cards, many collaborative products were added, from spectacle and lipstick cases to notebooks. She also paints a great deal of autonomous work, alternating large canvases with smaller formats. Judith is also commissioned to paint. In close consultation with the client, she creates tailor-made works of art. She recently moved to Friesland for more peace and quiet. Next to her house in Stavoren, she is building a studio where her work will soon be exhibited. Judith never lacks inspiration. She likes to go out in the morning for a long walk and always comes back full of ideas.
